Bernd Collection of Architecture at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh

Library

The Bernd Collection of Architecture in the
Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is the most focused collection of historical architecture books and the most important collection of its kind in Pittsburgh. Materials generally date from the 17th to early 20th centuries, and include works like Leon Battista Alberti's L'Architecture et Art de Bien Bastir, Paris, 1553. The library is right across the street from the Frick Fine Arts building.

The Architectural Studies Program is undertaking an initiative to upload a completely scanned version of the catalog. Students will be able to use this online resource in conjunction with their courses.
