Emily is an architect, planner, and designer with more than 15 years of experience in urban/community planning, residential development, and neighborhood revitalization. She is committed to creating walkable neighborhoods and fostering distinctive, equitable, healthy communities with a strong sense of place. Through her design and advocacy work, Emily promotes community-oriented workshops and other participatory planning efforts to build consensus and reinforce the synergy of the planning and design process. Emily is committed to building equity in the architecture and allied design industries; in November 2018 alongside several other leaders in the community, she helped reboot Women+ in Design Pittsburgh, a network of over 400 female and female-identified design professionals and allies who strive to build professional development skills, strengthen networks, and advocate for one another throughout the industry.

Prior to joining Perkins Eastman, Emily worked as an urban designer at the Washington, DC, Office of Planning. She worked as a project designer with firms specializing in urban residential projects throughout the Metro DC area. She also served on the board of the National Capital Area Chapter of the American Planning Association and participated in the District Leadership Program.
